Film Festival is due to kick off on March 23 The 19th annual Tetouan International Mediterranean Film Festival is due to take place from March 23-30.Grazia Volpi, Ibrahim Latif and Rachid el-Ouali will lead the panels for selection of the best long ,short and documentary films.Renowned Italian producer, Grazia Volpi will head the jury for long films. Volpi is one of the prominent figures in contemporary Italian cinema, and has been noted as one of the world’s greatest talents in global cinema, with over 30 films to her name. Her latest film, Caesar Must Die won the Golden Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival, in February 2012. The film was directed by brothers Paolo and Vittorio Taviana.
Volpi produced her first film, Suspect in 1975, which began a string of successful collaborations with Italian and international directors.
She has worked along with senior directors in Europe, including Ricky Tugnaza, Francisco Maselli, Vito Zacaro, Paulo Benbenote, Antonio Salieyra, Oessandra Bobolin, and Fernando Bivano.
The short film jury is headed by Tunisian script writer and director, Ibrahim Latif, who specialises in short films. He is also a member of the Society of Short films and Documentaries, and a professor at the School of Audiovisual and Cinematic Media in Tunisia.
Among  his short films are Visa, The Man With The Grey Uniform, Ms Joy, Happiness, After the Storm, Dialogues and Blossom. He also directed long film named Tenicita.
Latif has headed numerous juries for short films in Arab and International festivals, most recently Berlin International Festival for Cinema in 2011.
Moroccan actor Rachid el-Ouali will head the jury for documentary films. He is prominent on the Moroccan film scene and has a plethora of performances to boast of which have been honoured in national and Arabic film festivals.
Rachid el-Ouali has also dabbled with directing short films and has an upcoming film entitled Mom which will screen for the first time during the Tetouan festival.
