The final judging stage of the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports is already underway with all applications being examined by a team of judges before sending them back to the organısers in October.
In October, a meeting for the scientific committee will take place. It will be chaired byGeneral secretary of the award Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar and attended by DrHazza Al Hazza (Saudi Arabia), Dr Mohammed SobhiHassanein (Egypt), Dr Sari Hamdan (Jordan) and Dr Ahmed Al Sharif (UAE).
Thirty to scientific researches have already been submitted by the applicants from 11 countries – Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Czech Republic, India and Bahrain.
This second edition of the prestigious award have witnessed record 50 applicants who signed up in the first stages, but 32 were able submit their respective researches in time for evaluation.
Sayyar said a team of well experienced judges have been carefully chosen to look into these researches and evaluate them in accordance to the criteria set up by the General Secretariat of the award.
Sayyar said the General Secretariat has received a large number of researches, but three were rejected as they did not meet the administrative conditions, while one research was expelled for not meeting the technical conditions.
Sayyar noted the significant efforts of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, and his continued follow up to the award progress.
