Mohammed Noor has played in 7 AFC Champions League tournaments
Saudi football club Al Nassr have announced the signing of veteran midfielder Mohammed Noor as an "amateur" player until the end of the current season.
The playmaker decided to leave Ittihad FC, and
confirmed that Al Nassr was his first choice.
"Al Nassr always attracts stars, and it is popular everywhere. These are important factors for us as football players," Noor, who was Al Nassr’s former captain, said during a press conference in Riyadh on Monday.
"The administration of Ittihad FC asked me to leave, and I am the one who asked to join Al-Nassr FC," he explained.
Negotiations between the two parties were completed on Monday evening and Noor signed the contact in the presence of club Chairman Prince Faisal Bin Turki on Monday morning.
Noor will start as an “amateur” for the rest of the current season and will be upgraded to "professional" for the new season.
The 35-year-old player rebuffed criticism that he is getting older and his talent is waning. "I am surprised by the way some people judge a footballer by his age rather than by his performance.
"I will prove through my performance how I should be evaluated," he added.
