Jordanian King Abdullah II with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas
Jordanian King Abdullah II is to visit the Ramallah this week. The King announced his visit to Palestine following the victory of Mahmoud Abbas at the United Nations. Abdullah II will visit the Palestinian Authority headquarters
in the West Bank.
The Jordanian King held a meeting with former deputy Moneim Abu Zant and other officials, where he reviewed a number of urgent national and international issues, one of which was the Jordanian Prime Minister’s visit to Cairo to discuss Egyptian gas. On the agenda were also the petrol and gas price hike, Syria, Palestine and Israel, and the upcoming parliamentary elections in Jordan on January 23.
The Monarch maintained that the elections would be held on schedule and would not be delayed, despite the recent uproar in the kingdom.
The King stressed that Jordan’s role in the Syrian conflict was only humanitarian.
