Abu Dhabi - QNA
The UAE has warned citizens against travelling to Lebanon due to the unstable security conditions and the ongoing events there. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, undersecretary of the foreign ministry, urged UAE nationals in Lebanon to leave the country immediately for safety reasons and to coordinate with the UAE embassy in Beirut to facilitate their departure, a foreign ministry statement issued Friday and carried by state news agency WAM said. The ministry also called on citizens to "comply with this warning until further notice and to be cautious when traveling outside the country." The warning comes amid volatile security conditions in Lebanon where a car bombing left six people killed and others injured in southern Beirut on Thursday, which followed a deadly blast last Friday that killed, among others, former finance minister Mohammad Chatah.
