Expo 2020 and the Fifa World Cup in 2022 will prop up demand

The near-term outlook for the UAE aircraft maintenance sector looks bright over the next couple of years, mainly due to Expo 2020 and the Fifa World Cup in 2022, said a senior official of Dubai-based DC Aviation Al-Futtaim.

Holger Ostheimer, managing director, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim, said the immediate outlook for the UAE and the region is positive. Beyond that, there are many factors determining the growth of the sector, including global, regional, political and commercial reasons.

He said the business has been grown steadily since commencing operations as customers experience the advantages of operating their private and business jets into and out of Al Maktoum International Airport.

"We remain confident that the industry will continue to grow and will see strong demand as we get closer to Expo 2020 and the Fifa World Cup in 2022," Ostheimer said at the Dubai Airshow currently taking place near Al Maktoum International Airport.
