The number of air passengers in Turkey exceeded 100 million in the first 9 months of 2012. According to the statistics the Directorate General of State Airports Authority (DHMI), as World Bulletin reports, the total number of passengers increased 5.1% when compared to the same period last year and was recorded as 108,746,000 as of September 2012. Domestic air traffic went up 4.1% and was recorded 455,611, international flights went up 5.5% and was recorded 381,266 and total air traffic was recorded 836,877 with a 4.7% increase when compared to the same period last year as of September 2012. Total cargo traffic went up 6.8% and was recorded 1,851,822 tonnes in the same period. A total of 14.6 million people received services at Turkish airports in September 2012. Domestic flights went up 4.5% when compared to the same period last year and was recorded as 55,521 and international flights went up 5.8% and was recorded as 53,225 in September 2012.
