Travel via the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has increased and achieved “positive results,” as was clear from figures up until the end of last February, the Airport International Group (AIG) said on Saturday. It said in a statement that the number of passengers at the new air facility rose by 17.3% by the end of February this year, or 1,083,000 passengers compared to 923,000 during the same period in 2013.The AIG, which operates the airport, said average aircraft movement was up 11,079 or 8.3% during the same period.AIG Chief Executive Officer Kjeld Binger said the fixed growth reflects the QAIA’s commitment to provide world-class services and application of best practices in the aviation industry.Binger said although the new airport has been in service for less than a year, it had already won two prestigious international prizes.
