The Syrian Airlines decided to suspend flights between Cairo and each of Aleppo and Damascus for four months, until March 23, due to the deteriorating security conditions in Syria. Civil aviation authorities and Cairo Airport received a notification from the Syrian Airlines to this effect. Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
