Austria-based Rosenbauer International said on Friday it had won a 245.3m ($319.7m) euro order from Saudi Arabia\'s Ministry of Interior to supply fire engineering equipment. A total of 1,125 vehicles are to be supplied to the kingdom, the company said, including a range of civil defence equipment including trucks and boats. The supply contract also comprises pumpers and rescue vehicles. In addition, heavy recovery vehicles, aerial ladders, boats and hydraulic rescue equipment have been ordered. Rosenbauer said the order will be fulfilled in several part-deliveries spread across the next 30 months, through to mid-2014. The company has also won a 19.7m euro contract to supply vehicle to the New Doha International Airport, which is currently being built. Rosenbauer said it will supply 18 fire fighting vehicles, including a multi-year maintenance and service contract. The vehicles are to be supplied by as early as October 2012. The New Doha International Airport is set to commence operations in 2012 and will have Airbus A380-ready runways and taxiways right from the outset. \"With the fleet of emergency vehicles it has ordered, the new airport will be ideally equipped to meet the heightened requirements brought about primarily by the entry into service of the ‘superjumbo’ Airbus A380,\" Rosenbauer said in a statement.
