Passengers on board Portuguese flight evacuated over bomb threat

Some 38 passengers on board a local Portuguese flight were evacuated on Tuesday over a bomb treat, Al Arabiya TV channel reported.

The plane, preparing to leave Faro airport in Portugal's southern region of Algarve for Lisbon, was handed over to the authorities for inspection.

A spokesman declined to provide details on how the threat had been delivered.

The airport in the region popular with tourists was put on the second-highest "orange" alert, but the flights timetable showed no further delays for arrivals and departures.
