The Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 3.61 million passengers in the first half of the current year, indicating a rise of 5.4 per cent compared with the same period of 2016.
The airport operated 35,911 flights in the January-June period, up by 0.7 per cent compared with the same period last year, according to a statement by the Airport International Group (AIG), the company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of the QAIA.
In June alone, the statement revealed that the airport had welcomed 629,000 passengers, signaling an increase of 14 per cent compared with 552,000 passengers in the same month last year.
