Several new commercial flights to Anshun Airport in southwest China\'s Guizhou Province are set to make nearby Huangguoshu Waterfall, Asia\'s largest waterfall, much more accessible, a local official predicted on Tuesday. While Anshun Airport, just 30 km from the waterfall, was opened in 2006, flights have been scarce. However, the new routes will connect the waterfall with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Chengdu, said Xue Kui, head of Anshun City\'s tourism and sports bureau, which administrates Huangguoshu Waterfall. The Chongqing-Anshun route will start operation on Dec. 28, while Beijing-Anshun is expected to be launched in early 2013, Xue said. The waterfall, 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide, is the signature tourist spot of mountainous Guizhou Province. The last active route to the local airport, Guangzhou-Anshun, was suspended in October after one year in operation.
