The number of foreign tourists who visited South Korea in the first quarter of this year rose 10.9 percent on-year, thanks mostly to the resurgence of the so-called Korean Wave in China, a report showed Wednesday. According to the Korea National Tourism Organization, tourist numbers reached 2.86 million in the three-month period. It said of the total, 1.04 million were Chinese nationals, a jump of 44.9 percent from the year before.
