Aerospace giant Boeing\'s latest aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner, landed in Tokyo on Wednesday, launch-customer All Nippon Airlines said. The plane\'s first commercial flight is scheduled for October 26 from Tokyo to Hong Kong. Over half of the parts in the Boeing-787 are made up of composite materials. The firm claims the new 787 airliner will consume 20 percent less fuel than other modern jets of the same class. Production of the aircraft was delayed by technical issues and delivery of the first aircraft was three years behind schedule. The first test flight, scheduled for the end of the second quarter of 2008, was delayed due to technical problems and finally took place on December 16, 2009. To date, Boeing has received more than 860 orders for the Dreamliner from more than 50 airlines. Russian airline Aeroflot has also ordered the aircraft.
