More than 5,500 travelers had their travel plans disrupted on Monday by a heavy fog that lingered for nearly seven hours in Urumqi, the capital of northwest China\'s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Urumqi International Airport confirmed that 145 flights were disrupted, with 138 delays and seven cancellations. The fog shrouded the airport from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., reducing visibility to less than 50 meters.
