The remains of the crew of a British Royal Air Force bomber were buried in Malaysia on Thursday, after their aircraft crash into the Southeast Asian jungle at the end of the Second World War more than six decades ago. The crew members were buried in the Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery in Kuala Lumpur with military honor, witnessed by their families who had come all the way from Britain and officials of the British High Commission in Malaysia. The eight were killed when the British Royal Air Force Liberator KL654 crashed in Negeri Sembilan of Malay Penisula due to bad weather during a supply mission. Their fates were unknown for decades until their remains were discovered by a private expedition in 2009.
