Cairo - Arab Today
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is scheduled to participate in a high-level segment of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, which will be held next week in New York.
This comes as part of Egypt's keenness on reaching a political settlement of economic and international crises, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Sisi is set to deliver Egypt's address to the UN general assembly, during which he will expound the latest developments in Egypt, the spokesman added.
Youssef noted that the president will also take part in a UN Security Council summit on the latest developments in the Middle East region, particularly the situation in Syria.
Sisi will also preside over a summit of the African Peace and Security Council and a meeting of the Committee of African Heads of State on Climate Change.
The spokesman noted that the president will hold a series of meetings with a number of heads of state participating in the UN gathering to discuss ways of boosting bilateral relations in the economic and investment fields.
Sisi will also hold a meeting with several US media outlets and representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce on how to reinforce strategic relations between Egypt and the US, the spokesman concluded.
