New York - MENA
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will meet President Barack Obama here on Thursday, the presidential spokesman announced.
On Tuesday, he is scheduled for talks with several world leaders taking part in the United Nations General Assembly 69th session, Ambassador Alaa Youssef said.
He will meet with the presidents of South Korea, France and Chile. He will also hold talks with the prime ministers of Ethiopia and Britain, he added.
The talks will be held after Sisi delivers the statement of Egypt and the Arab Group at the Climate Summit, added the spokesman.
President Sisi will also meet with US President Barack Obama on Thursday, said the spokesman, adding that the meeting comes at the request of the US president.
He held that the meeting of the Egyptian and US leaders comes within the framework of important and strategic relations binding the two countries over 30 years now.
These relations, added the spokesman, are vast and wide enough to allow for differences that would prop up between friends. These differences would be settled, he pointed out, adding that relations between Egypt and the US allow also for achieving joint interests and gains.
The spokesman denied reports that the Qatari emir has asked to meet with president Sisi.
