The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels of Mansoura University gears up for the first international conference on tourism and archaeology, slated for March 5-6.
The conference is organized in tandem with the German Archaeological Institute.
The conference is held under the aegis of Tourism Minister Yehia Rashed and Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani.
In statements to MENA on Saturday, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Amina Shalaby - who will chair the conference - said the conference aims at activating tourism in Egypt and boosting investments for new archaeological discoveries.
The conference will also tackle means of developing human resources and administrative systems in the tourism industry.
The conference will also review the role of foreign missions in archaeological excavation.
