Culture Minister Helmi Namnam and Bibliotheca Alexandrina director Ismail Serageldin will open on Thursday Alexandria International Book Fair that will run till April 4.

The event is organized by Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Egyptian General Egyptian Book Organisation (GEBO).

Italy will attend the event as a guest of honor with a pavilion featuring Italian books and a photo gallery.

More than 140 activities will be held on the sidelines of the fair.

Publishers, members of Union Publishers, representatives of states, and public and international institutions will take part in the fair.
