The sixth session of the African Parliament kicked off here on Monday.
The activities of the parliament will last till the end of May.
The parliament will tackle peace and security issues in Africa and future of the economic as well as social cooperation in the continent.
It will also vote for the country which will head the parliament after Nigeria in the coming session.
The speaker of the parliament said that the terrorism is the main obstacle to achieving development in Africa.
He further condemned all forms of extremism.
