Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Sunday with visiting United Nations Special Coordinator for Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov.
The meeting took up the latest developments in the Palestinian cause in light the regional changes and means to push forward efforts to revive the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in accordance with the international references.
During the meeting, Shoukry presented Egypt's stance towards the Palestinian cause, saying it is still the core of the conflict in the Middle East, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Aatti said.
The get-together also took up efforts exerted for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, Abdel Aatti said.
During the meeting, Shoukry asserted the need to resume international efforts to lift the Israeli siege imposed on the enclave, the spokesman said.
