Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief and Defence Minister Colonel General Sedqi Sobhi met Thursday with Italy's Minister of State for Security Affairs and Intelligence Domenico Minetti along with his accompanying delegation.
They exchanged views on Arab and regional issues, especially the latest developments in Libya in light of the deteriorating security situation and the proliferation of armed terrorist organizations and their impact on the security and stability of the Middle East.
The two sides also agreed upon the need for concerted international efforts to find a way out of this crisis.
Minetti, for his part, highly lauded the efforts exerted by Egypt’s Armed Forces in eradicating terrorism in all its forms.
He also offered condolences to the Egyptians who have fallen victim to terrorism inside and outside Egypt.
He further stressed his country's support for Egypt in its war against elements of extremist ideology.
