His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that unified stances are strongly needed to face challenges and deal with them, citing the successful summits hosted recently by Saudi Arabia.
The echo of the historic Riyadh summits will continue to be strong for their success in creating a unified stance, and because they made the world recognise Saudi Arabia’s positions aimed at strengthening Arab solidarity, international cooperation, as well as regional and global stability, HRH Premier said.
The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving, at the Gudaibiya Palace today, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, and Chairman of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, who congratulated him on Eid Al-Fitr.
HRH Premier reviewed with the Speaker and Shura Chairman the current level of government-parliament cooperation, and ways to develop it amid the current regional and international economic and security challenges requiring everyone to exert extra efforts in order to overcome them and reduce their effects on the development process in the kingdom.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Executive-Legislature cooperation will continue unabated as both sides share keenness on achieving the interests of the nation and the citizens.
Our major concern is the protection of our country and its security and stability through strong cooperation, consultation and coordination, as well as adherence to national unity and complementarity, he said, pointing out that everyone is aware of the size of challenges and responsibilities, and the optimal dealing with them will be through the efforts of the government only, but through cooperation among all branches.
The Speaker and Shura Chairman lauded HRH Premier’s constant directives to strengthen cooperation with the Legislative Branch, noting that the achievements of the two councils are the fruitful outcome of the Prime Minister’s support and directives to enhance cooperation between the two branches.
They expressed thanks to HRH Premier for the government’s cooperation in dealing with the draft budget law which is currently being discussed by the Council of Representatives.
