Prime Minister Hani Al Mulki chaired a meeting for the government’s economic team in the presence of the president and secretary general of the Economic and Social Council.
Al Mulki stressed the importance of increasing cooperation between the government economic team and the Economic and Social Council to reach solutions to economic challenges facing the Kingdom through applicable programs.
He also spoke about measures taken by the government to achieve financial and economic reforms, the last of which was a decision to reduce the expenditure of ministries and public departments by JD206 million.
Al Mulki said the measure was a practical response to arrive at realistic solutions to challenges, and put the national economy on the right track.
The prime minister highlighted the need to benefit from recommendations and studied presented by the Economic and Social Council on various challenges and national issues, and pave the way for discussions through the council’s experts with experts and specialists on financial and economic challenges as well as administrative reform.
Presdient of the Economic and Social Council Mustafa Hamarneh said the council is conducting specialized studies and will present their recommendations to the government to benefit from them when taking decisions.
