His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Monday the visiting French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, as part of his tour of the region.
They discussed ties of cooperation and friendship between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them for the benefit of the joint strategic interests.
Sheikh Mohamed and Le Drian reviewed political, economic, scientific, cultural cooperation between the UAE and France as well as the most important ideas and projects related to strengthening ties between the two friendly countries in the light of determination of the two countries' leaderships to expand them to wider prospects.
They also tackled the efforts exerted by of the two countries, in cooperation with the international community, to fight extremism and terrorism, to dry up its sources of funding, and to work together to establish security and stability in the region.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and French Minister of Foreign Affairs also discussed the latest regional and international developments and issues of common concern and exchanged views in this regard.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince’s Court of Abu Dhabi, and the French Ambassador to the UAE, Ludovic Pouille, attended the meeting.
