Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received the Commander of King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH), Major General Dr. Shaikh Salman bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa and praised his and the hospital staff’s efforts in achieving the vision of His Majesty the King.
The minister also applauded his efforts to develop and raise the level of health care in Bahrain to match the best global facilities.
Dr. Mirza was told of the desire of the King Hamad Hospital to take advantage of the expertise of the Sustainable Energy Unit in the conservation of energy as well as benefit from the installation of solar panels to produce electricity, which would contribute to the production of clean power and achieving rationalization of electricity consumption.
The minister welcomed the initiative from the hospital and said the government encouraged initiatives that contribute to achieving national goals in the use of renewable energy and raising the efficiency of its use in Bahrain.
He expressed the readiness of the Sustainable Energy Unit to provide technical and engineering support for the completion of the project at the hospital with the best technical specifications, thus becoming a model for government facilities that have initiated the use of renewable energy in Bahrain.
Major General Shaikh Salman thanked the minister and the officials for the warm reception and hospitality and for providing all possible support for initiatives to activate and use renewable energy in buildings and facilities in pursuit of a clean and green environment.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials of the Sustainable Energy Unit.
