Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza

 Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Capital Trustees Board Acting Chairman Mazen Ahmed Al Omran, in the presence of its members and those of the Sustainable Energy Unit.

The two sides reviewed the future plan of the Sustainable Energy Unit and discussed the board’s proposals.

The Minister thanked Bahrain’s wise leadership for its support to the projects of the Electricity and Water Authority, the Sustainable Energy Unit and the board so as to be able to provide the best services to citizens and residents.
The minister said this support is responsible for many achievements and said they are keen to continue working at the same pace and implement further development plans.

The minister and the Sustainable Energy Unit team gave a presentation on its objectives, plans, regulations and legislation. The National Energy Efficiency Plan (NEEAP) and the National Renewable Energy Plan (NREAP) prepared by the Unit were reviewed.

The Cabinet had approved the establishment of the Sustainable Energy Unit in November 2014 as a co-operation between the Government of Bahrain represented Electricity and Water Authority and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The visitors thanked the minister and other officials for their cooperation and keenness to provide the best services.

The meeting was also attended by Executive Director of the Sustainable Energy Unit Jehan Al Murbati and advisers Dr. Khaled Bu Rashid and Dr. Ahmed Hashim.
