Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met on Saturday with South African President Jacob Zuma, Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe, Zambia's President Edgar Lungu and Macky Sall of Senegal.
Talks took up means of boosting bilateral ties with each of the four African countries.
They also discussed topics on the agenda of the 25th session of the AU summit, which will kick off here Sunday.
Mahlab arrived in South Africa earlier Saturday.
