Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met with Madagascar's President Hery Rajaonarimampianina.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of trade, industry, electricity and population as well as the deputy of the foreign minister and the Egyptian ambassador in Ethiopia.
The get-together was held before Mahlab left Ethiopia where he led the Egyptian delegation participating in the COMESA summit in Addis Ababa.
Mahlab said that Egypt is keen on promoting joint cooperation and offering expertise to the African countries especially in the agriculture sector to fulfill the demands of Madagascar in increasing its crops of rice because Egypt has great experience in that field.
The prime minister invited Madagascar's president to attend the inauguration ceremony of the New Suez Canal.
For his part, Rajaonarimampianina thanked Mahlab for Egypt's support to his country, adding that the Egyptian companies are welcomed to implement projects in Madagascar especially in the fields of tourism, agriculture and health.
