Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and Defense Minister Khaled Al-Obeidi visited on Saturday the headquarters of the joint operations.

They were briefed on the security situation in Anbar, western Iraq.

Iraqi troops backed by tribal fighters are fighting militants who controlled areas of the provinces last year.
