Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi

Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has stressed the keenness of the kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the government, to activate the role of the media in deepening Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) identity, the spirit of patriotism and tolerance, and in increasing the continuous development and civilisational gains within the framework of the GCC's march towards complementarity and unity. 
The minister was speaking as he received the Director General of the Gulf Radio and TV Corporation (GRTC), Majri bin Saud Al-Qahtani, and congratulated him on assuming his new post, wishing every success in developing GRTC's effective role in strengthening cooperation among GCC media institutions so as to serve joint fraternal and historical interests.
Al-Romaihi reviewed with Al-Qahtani areas of cooperation and coordination with GRTC regarding radio and television training, encouraging joint research and media production, exchanging expertise, as well as the ongoing preparations to hold the 15th Gulf Radio and Television Festival, set to be hosted by Bahrain next year.
He reiterated the Information Affairs Ministry's commitment to supporting joint GCC media institutions according to a unified strategy that achieves the interests of GCC countries and their peoples and protects their cultural and civilisational identity.
This would contribute to highlighting the GCC's honourable image, landmark political, economic and social achievements, and support development, peace and stability on the region and the world.
