Housing Minister, Bassim bin Yacoub Al-Hamar

Housing Minister, Bassim bin Yacoub Al-Hamar, received here today the Bahrain Journalists’ Association (BJA)’s Board Chairman, Moanes Al-Mardi, and members.

The minister stressed the key role played by BJA to support the press media work in the kingdom, which enjoys the interest and support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who spearheaded the Democratic Reform Project to consolidate the constitutional principle of freedoms, in general, and the freedom of expression, in particular.

The royal support was reflected in HM the King’s directives to provide all kinds of support to the national press and journalists by allocating a housing project to them, as the best means to support their efforts to assume their patriotic duties, and a token of pride in their role as partners in the nation’s progress.

On the journalists’ housing project, Al-Hamar said that the Housing Ministry has finalised the preliminary planning work of the project and is currently waiting for the relevant government agencies to approve the plan so that the implementation of the project commences in Hoorat Sanad, the project’s site.

He added that the first phase of the project will include 57 units.

BJA expressed thanks and appreciation to the Housing Ministry for its role in implementing the royal directives regarding the journalists’ housing project.

BJA lauded the landmark achievements of the Housing Ministry, reflecting the success of the government’s successful housing efforts.
