Dr. Abdullatif Rashid Al Zayani, GCC Secretary-General, has met with Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, UN Special Envoy for Yemen, to discuss developments in the security and humanitarian situation in Yemen.
During the meeting, the UN envoy briefed Al Zayani on the latest updates on political consultations and the possibilities of reaching a political solution to end the conflict.
Al Zayani commended the UN envoy's efforts and reiterated the GCC states' support for his work in order to resume peaceful talks. The Secretary-General also called for increased humanitarian aid efforts to support the people of Yemen during this difficult crisis.
