Mohammed Al Ketbi, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, in Aden, and Victor Kubian, Director of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security, along with his assistant Heba Farid, met on Sunday in the temporary Yemeni capital, Aden.

During the meeting, both sides discussed efforts made by the United Nations, in various Yemeni locations, and the ability to work in areas that still witness tensions due to the ongoing war, in addition to expanding their work in safe zones.

Al Ketbi also noted the work of the United Nations humanitarian organisations in service to the Yemeni people, who live in tragic circumstances due to the war that has been continuing for over two years.

They further explored how they might enhance co-operation and co-ordination between the ERC and the United Nations Department of Safety and Security to meet the needs of the Yemeni people.

Al Ketbi stressed that the ERC seeks co-operation with various international organisations, with the goal of promoting stability, tranquility and reassurance in providing humanitarian and food safety in Yemen.

The Director of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security in Aden praised the efforts undertaken by the Emirates Red Crescent in Yemen, which he described as excellent at all levels.
