Cairo - MENA
Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Friday received phone calls from his French and British counterparts to discuss the latest developments in Libya.
In statements, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said that Shoukry assured Laurent Fabius of France and Philip Hammond of the UK that Egypt welcomes all efforts exerted by UN special envoy to Libya Bernardino Leon.
During the calls, the Egyptian top diplomat stressed the importance of reaching a comprehensive solution to the current crisis in Libya, the spokesman added.
Shoukry also praised a UN peace plan submitted by Leon, pointing out that Libyan factions should be given time to consider and comment on the plan.
The conversations also took up the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the spokesman underscored.
