The Muftis Shura Council of the Russian Federation expressed its thanks and gratitude to His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, for his donation to the 18th session of the International Holy Quran Competition, to be held in Moscow next September.
This came during a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Moscow, Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati and the Deputy Grand Mufti of Russia, Hidrat Roshan Abbasov, where he presented His Majesty the King’s donation to the competition.
Roshan Abbasovnoted thatHis Majesty the King of Bahrain is well-known for his promotionand contribution tothe Holy Quran, as well as his support for the Muftis Council’s projects.
His Majesty the King has already donated a collection of Bahrain copies of the HolyQuran to the Grand Mosque in Moscow. The Muftis Council decided to name this session after His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in recognition of the great role he undertakes for the service of Islam and Muslims.
He also praised His Majesty the King’s initiatives in maximizing the values of the true Islamic religion, that is based on tolerance, moderation, rejection of extremism, spreading of love, peace and human coexistence.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain thanked the Russian Muftis Shura Council for their generous gesture to name the competition after His Majesty the King, stressing Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen relations with Russia in all fields.
He pointed out that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Council of Muftis and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Bahrain, which was held in Moscow last May, will contribute to strengthening relations between the two friendly countries.
Participants from the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as competitors from Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, America, Turkey and Croatia, will participate in the competition.
