Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received at the Bahrain National Museum today, the Chief Executive Officer of Arcapita Bank, Atif Abdulmalik, and discussed with him ways to enhance joint cooperation to attain more civilisational and cultural achievements for the kingdom.
Shaikh Mai informed Atif Abdulmalik about BACA’s efforts to open the “Pearl Route” Expo Project, which is registered on the humanitarian World UNESCO Heritage site, in 2018, on the sidelines of the “Muharraq as Capital of Islamic Culture” event.
BACA president lauded Arcapita’s support for culture, noting that its efforts within the “Invest in Culture” initiative, launched by her more than 10 years ago, have led to its support for the establishment of many cultural infrastructure projects, including the Qalat al Bahrain (Bahrain Forst) site and museum, the first site to be registered by the kingdom in the UNESCO heritage list.
Arcpita’s CEO expressed admiration for BACA’s efforts to preserve Bahrain’s heritage sites, including the Pearl Route, wishing BACA every success in the “Muharraq as Capital of Islamic Culture, 2018”.
He expressed the bank’s readiness to cooperate with BACA in ensuring the success of the “Pearl Route” Expo project.
