Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim alJaafari held talks with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra on the sidelines of Geneva Human Rights Council meetings in Geneva on means of bolstering bilateral relations and efforts exerted to combat Daesh terrorist organization.
The Algerian top diplomat praised the progress achieved by the Iraqi Army in the fight against terrorism, asserting the importance of consolidating efforts to enhance security and stability of the Middle East region.
They also agreed on beefing up cooperation between the two countries.
The Algerian minister also said he is scheduled to visit Baghdad soon for talks on joint cooperation.
Iraqi Foreign Ministry Media Office said Jaafari appreciated Algeria's support for Iraq in its war against terrorism at international fora, pressing the need for issuing resolutions from the Arab League to maintain Arab interests and stand up against challenges facing the region.
Jaafari also asserted that Iraq's victory on its war on terrorism was bolstered by the support it received from friendly and sisterly Arab countries.
