Pope Tawadros II

Archbishop of Milan Cardinal Angelo Scola handed over the remains of two Milan bishops to visiting Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese.

The remains belong to Dionysius, the bishop of Milan from 351 to 360. He is honored as a Saint in the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches.

The other is that of Ambrosius, bishop of Milan from 374 to 397. He is notable for his influence on Saint Augustine.

For his part, the Egyptian pope awarded the cardinal icons representing the Coptic heritage.
