Ramallah - Petra
The Israeli occupation authorities banned the Muslim call to prayer (Adhan) at the Ibrahimi Mosque in the West Bank city of Hebron 60 times in September.
Director of Endowments in Hebron, Hijazi Abu Sneineh, said in a statement that the call to prayer was banned by the Israeli authorities on the grounds that it disturbed Jewish settlers present in the part of the mosque taken from the Muslims.
The statement denounced these Israeli measures describing them as a flagrant violation of international laws and doctrines that stipulate freedom of worship and safe passage to places of worship.
