The African Development Bank (AfDB) is to grant Tunisia a loan worth 183 million dinars (MTD), i.e., 95 million euros, to co-finance a national drinking-water supply programme in rural areas. The loan agreement to be signed Wednesday, October 19, aims, according to AfDB, "to support Tunisia's economic and social development, by providing drinking water to some 350,000 rural inhabitants in 20 governorates and facilitating access to water for farming activities." The agreement is also meant to provide "favourable conditions for creating new income sources for these people."
