Microsoft has received a patent for a wearable game controller experts say could control a device like the company\'s Xbox 360 through a simple armband feature. Sensors in the band would pick up electrical signals generated by the muscles in the arm moving in a particular direction or style, which would then be sent to the gaming device via a wireless or wired connection, TG Daily reported Wednesday. The technology could go beyond just a mere armband, experts said, noting the patent suggests integrating the system into a watch or even clothing. Other uses of the technology, known as wearable electromyography, could include controlling a smartphone or a laptop computer, they said. It is uncertain whether Microsoft intends to release products based on the technology, since it already has the Kinect motion sensing game controller that requires users to wear no additional hardware, TG Daily said.
