Remember that 'snail-paced' smartphone? You can now be among the first to own it.
Sony Mobile Communications announced that its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia XZ Premium, is now available for pre-orders in the UAE.
Unveiled on April 10, the new mobile is the first smartphone to support 4K HDR technology, and its 19MP Motion Eye camera is the first to be able to shoot videos at 960 frames per second, allowing super-slow motion viewing.
Among the stores accepting pre-orders in-store and online are Sharaf DG, Jumbo Electronics and the Sony boutique in The Dubai Mall. Sony headphones worth Dh799 will be included as a gift.
Jason Smith, the Sony Mobile Communications' vice-president for the Middle East and Africa, indicated to Khaleej Times during last month's launch that the new phone's price range would be between Dh2,700-Dh2,900.
The official price tag is actually lower at Dh2,699.
Pre-orders for the Xperia XZ Premium will be accepted until May 31. Its general availability in UAE stores will be from the second week of June.
