Samsung's new The Frame TV, surrounded by art works of Emirati artist Saggaf Abdillah Alhashmi

Samsung has a long line of televisions that cater to various lifestyles, but this time they've 'edged' it up a bit. (But no, we're not talking about something similar to its smartphones.)

The South Korean technology giant on Wednesday unveiled its new The Frame TV in the UAE,whose bezelsare akin to frames found in traditional works of art hanging on walls.

And the frames on these 4K ultra-high definition TVs can be customised to suit any room, with oak, walnut and white options available.

All said, The Frame doubles as a work of art; when Art Mode is on, the display turns into a digital painting with a selection of 100 art pieces in 10 different categories. An store, meanwhile, will soon be available, in which users can buy other images.

Samsung Gulf Electronics' head of product marketing for its consumer electronics division, Haris Munif, says that the TV market is changing, with users looking for different aspects that would appeal to them.

"The integration between lifestyle, design, art and technology is becoming increasingly prominent in the everyday world," he said.

The Frame, he adds, answers this call, because it "beautifies [users'] space and lives in perfect harmony with their interior decor".
