The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, TRA, has announced the launch of ‘TRA Innovation Camp’ in its third edition, starting from tomorrow, until 10th August.
The camp aims to orient the younger generation towards future technological horizons, support exploration, innovation, future shaping and develop self-technical skills of the youth, in line with the country’s approach in the Information Communication Technology, ICT, field.
The innovation camp is held in several emirates to ensure the inclusion of the largest number of participants from the age of 6-17 years, girls and boys. During the camp, TRA organises 24 diverse activities focusing on building basic skills that help students develop and refine their talents as well as encourage them to adopt entrepreneurship in general, especially in the digital world.
Activities in the camp include smart city project, safe use of technology and social networking, design and arts, creativity and industry of the future, building positive skills, #Year_of_Giving programmes and activities, volunteering and community service, and other activities.
Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director-General, said, "Through organising this camp, the TRA seeks to promote and disseminate the culture of innovation in the ICT field among the UAE’s young generation, to instill the seeds of knowledge and to encourage them to excel and innovate, as part of the efforts to build and prepare the UAE youth talents. This event is in line with the directives of the wise leadership in creating an innovation conducive environment that leads the UAE to top international positions in various fields. It is also a continuation of the success we have achieved in the previous editions of the camp, and a reflection of our social responsibility."
