Jordan\'s Criminal Court declared today a \"death by hanging\" penalty for a father who raped his 17-year-old daughter more than 200 times. The Court convicted the 49-year-old man who was arrested in May 2008 for 288 accounts of rape felony agaisnt his daughter, declared by the Judge Ahmed Taun and the members Mohammed Khatib and Mohammed Al-Amarain, in the presence of the Public Prosecution Representative and the Defence council. The victim had been repeatedly raped by her father from the age of 11, taking her virginity and causing her severe pain. He continued doing so for several years, threatening to kill her if she mentioned it to anyone. It was not until the young girl fell pregnant; she decided to tell her brother who then reported a complaint against their father.
