Council of Arab Businesswomen has re-elected Sheikha Hessa Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah for another four-year term as its president.
Sheikha Hessa has been president of the council since its inception in 1999.
This announcement was made, Wednesday, during the fifth meeting of the council at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo.
Other than re-electing its president and its 24 members, the meeting also elected some of prominent businesswomen in the Arab world as honorary members for their supporting role to other businesswomen. These ladies are: Sheikha Aisha bint Salman al-Khalifa and Sheikha Aisa bint Ali Al-Khalifa from (Bahrain), Muna Jamal Abdulnasser and Rawya Mensour (Egypt), Salwa Saleh Al-Shibani (UAE), and Ambassador Nancy Bakir (Jordan).
The meeting also has chosen a number of leading women as advisors in the council for their long experience in serving their communities. Dr. Hessa Majid Al-Shaheen from Kuwait was nominated to become an advisor for the council's social affairs and GCC relations.
As for the council's coordinators, Hanan Al-Rifai, Najat Abdullah Dashti, and Bushra Al-Hazeem were chosen from Kuwait to coordinate the council's various public relations activities and events.
The meeting also discussed an administration report for (2010-2014) that shed light on all of the council's activities in supporting women in the economic and trade fields.
Another report was also tackled which focused on the council's financial matters from budgets to investments.
Arab Council of Businesswomen is economic association Arab non-governmental and not-for-profit operating under the auspices of the League of Arab States.
It aims at creating closer links and cooperation in various economic sectors to achieve Arab economic integration and strengthening economic relations between Arab businesswomen. (end) mab.nfm
