Ramallah - KUNA
Israeli security forces on Saturday attacked a Palestinian peaceful march marking the International Women's Day, injuring some of them.
Hundreds of Palestinian women took part in the march toward the Qalandia crossing shouting slogans against the Israeli occupation. Once they arrived there, Israeli troops behind the iron gate fired pepper and tear gases and rubber bullets at them. Many fell unconscious and received treatment on the spot.
Palestiian women are marking the International Women's Day to deliver a message to the world that they reject the Israeli occupation and urge their leadership not to resume negotiations, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Democratic Union party Zuhira Kamal told KUNA.
Meanwhile, Kamal called for adapting Palestinian legislations on women to the relevant international accords.
A similar march moved from central Gaza today and reached the UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) office raising banners with slogans calling for protecting Palestinian women against Israeli aggressions and ending the occupation.
